Dundee Candidates Sign “On This We Agree” Declaration
“There may be things on which we disagree but on this we agree.” Candidates from three parties who will be standing in Dundee have signed the On This We Agree declaration on independence which the Scottish Independence Convention has launched in the run-up to the Holyrood elections.
Heather Anderson, SNP candidate in Dundee West, commented: “Elections involve competition but it is good to have some space for cooperation, We may disagree on how best to achieve independence but we all want to get there.” Heather has been a City councillor since 2017 and is Convener for Environment and Climate. She was an organic farmer for twenty years.
Alan Ross from The Alba Party has fifteen years experience as a councillor in Dundee with a long involvement in community projects.
Liberate Candidate in Dundee East, Allan Petrie, also has long City Council and community campaigning experience.

- Scotland has been recognised as a distinct nation for over a thousand years
- Scotland has internationally recognised borders
- Scotland has long-established social, administrative and cultural institutions
- Scotland is resource-rich

- Scotland has an established legislature with significant but limited powers
- We believe that the people of Scotland have the democratic right to vote for independence at a time of their choosing
- We believe that Scotland can be a successful independent nation
